Established in 1987 with the following objectives
FMFF (Federation of Malaysian Freight Forwarders) was established in 1987 as a National Logistics Association. In 2000, FMFF was recognised by Ministry of Transport as the National Association representing logistics in Malaysia and internationally
Collectively, FMFF have 1547 members nationwide in Selangor, Penang, Johor, Sarawak, Kota Kinabalu, Labuan and Kedah. Selangor has the largest number of members, numbering more than 775.
FMFF is represented in many forums such as Trade Facilitation Working Group (MITI), regular Dialogues with MITI, MOF, MOT, Customs (Private Sector-Customs Liaison Meeting). FMFF is a member of the Port Consultative Committee of Federal Ports and has regular meetings and dialogues with the Port/Terminal operators and State Customs Authorities.


FMFF unites logistics associations under its banner. It is the voice of the industry, representing its members and the logistics industry in multiple Fora. It offers STC (Standard Trading Conditions) to FMFF members and liability insurance to conduct their logistics business.
FMFF also sits on the Advisory Board of MOHE (Ministry of Higher Education) on Vocational Training.
FMFF is also a member of FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarding Associations), FAPAA (Federation of Asia-Pacific Air Cargo Agents) and AFFA (Asean Federation of Forwarders Association).
FMFF endorses relevant Conferences, Seminars, Training programs by Conference organizers and other Training providers that updates and enhance relevant knowledge and expertise in logistics.
FMFF is also committed to implementing a sustainable capacity development program for its members and the logistics industry at large by conducting the UNESCAP Course in Multi-Modal Transport and FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding. FMFF has also completed the NOSS (National Occupations Skills Standards) in Import/Export Customs Coordination and Import and Export Customs Management for Levels 2-3 and 4 -5.
FMFF is also looking for accreditation by HRDF as a training center under SLDN and PTT. In 2016, FMFF have been granted training grant under HRDF’s INDCERT (Industry Certification) program to conduct the UNESCAP and FIATA courses.
FMFF endeavors to add more relevant training courses to its portfolio of training courses. It is presently in consultation with HELP University to collaborate in conducting courses to professionalise the logistics industry. FMFF have also worked with other training providers to conduct relevant logistics programs for Universities and Polytechnics, such as Jesselton University, Kota Kinabalu.
FMFF is collaborating with Wisetech Academy to conduct air and sea freight dangerous goods courses, certified by IATA and IMO.

Unification
To unify all freight forwarders in the country through the promotion of co-operation and understanding among members.

Representation
To protect and represent the interests of members at the National and International levels.

Service Standards
To improve the quality and standards of services of members through information and data exchange, documentary simplification systems and organisational development and internationalisation.

Ethics
To establish, maintain and promote ethical standards within the profession.

Arbitration
To arbitrate in the settlement of disputes and difficulties arising between members.

Growth
To foster the growth and awareness of freight forwarding through appropriate publications and promotions.

Public Relations
To foster and improve relations with shippers, carriers, governmental bodies and other related and interested parties.

Training
To foster and improve relations with shippers, carriers, governmental bodies and other related and interested parties.
